You must log in with an account that has sysadmin privileges. Use SSMS, connect to the instance, navigate to Security -> Logins, right-click on the user, select Properties, then in the General section, reset the password. If you don't have a sysadmin account, you may need to start the SQL Server instance in single-user mode to reset the password. Be very careful with this as it may not be the most secure solution.
